Authentication
Capacity connects to Zoom using a Server-to-Server OAuth app — a machine-to-machine authentication method that doesn't require an end-user login or a redirect step. This is a one-time setup: the same app and credentials can be used across the following supported products:
- Workplace Meetings
- Workplace Phone
- Contact Center Calls
- Contact Center Chat
One app covers every Zoom product. You only need to create this app once. If you're enabling more than one of the products above, come back to this same app's Scopes tab and add the scopes listed in each product's article rather than creating a separate app per product.
Before You Begin
- You must have account owner or admin access to the Zoom Marketplace for your organization's account.
- You know which of the four products above you're enabling, since that determines which scopes you'll add in the next step.
- If you're enabling any Zoom Contact Center product, confirm your Zoom account includes Contact Center licensing.
Configuration
- Sign in to the Zoom App Marketplace with your admin account.
- Select Build App (shown as a + icon in Zoom's newer Marketplace layout).
- Choose Server to Server OAuth App and click Create.
- Enter app name, for example Capacity CI Integration and click Create.
- On the App Credentials tab, save the Account ID, Client ID, and Client Secret securely — you'll share all three with Capacity.
- Click Continue
- On the Information tab enter your Company Name and then Name and Email within the Developer Contact Information — This is required for Zoom to notify a devloper of potential braking changes in future.
- Click Continue
- Event subscriptions are not required, click Continue on the Features tab
- On the Scopes tab, click Add Scopes and add the scopes listed in the article for each product you're enabling. One app can hold scopes for all Zoom products — At least 1 scope needs to be added to continue.
- Click Done when all scopes are added and
- Click Continue
- Click Activate your app
This app type has no redirect URL, subdomain check, or allow list to configure — those fields belong to Zoom's other app types and don't apply here.
